Default Is a master node will still be master after disconnects and reconnectto replication group

I have a replication group contains several nodes(for example, 3
nodes ,A ,B and C).
When the replication starts, A was elected as master, the other 2 are
slaves. (A has the highest priority).
If A disconnects, one of B and C will be elected as master (for
example,B is master now).
when A reconnects to the replication group,
does the elect will happen and A will become master?
(All the replication parameters of A is same to original A's ).
my experiment shows that A will not be master again, is this true?
