Default Question about interface statistics

Hi Guys,

I am running FreeBSD 7-Release/amd64

I notice there are some errors on one of my network interfaces, netstat
-i shows the following:

[alex@nas ~]$ netstat -i
Name Mtu Network Address Ipkts Ierrs Opkts
Oerrs Coll
em0 9000 00:0e:0c:da:27:a1 33365309 1003 54366493
0 0

The machine has 2 em() interfaces. em1 is connected to the LAN and has
no errors, em0 is connected directly to a cable modem, what do the
IERR's mean? Should I be concerned about them?

I had my figures mixed up. em0 is connected to the lan, em1 is connected
to the cable modem.

The em0 interface is connected via cat 6 cable to a gigabit ethernet switch

em0: flags=8843 metric 0 mtu 9000
options=9b
ether 00:0e:0c:da:27:a1
inet 172.16.0.254 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 172.16.0.255
media: Ethernet autoselect (1000baseTX )
status: active
