Default Pervasive SQL 2000i (v. 7) NT

After adding physical RAM, NTDBSMGR.EXE is using an excessive amount of memory. Prior to adding RAM, the Pervasive database engine was using at most 177 MB of memory. It is now using more than 400 MB and starving out other processes (for which I added the additional RAM).

This appears to be happening because the Pervasive database engine is configured to use as much memory as possible for the cache allocation. Using the Pervasive Control Center, I went to Configuration > Server > Performance tuning > Cache Allocation Size. Currently it is: Minimum 65536, Maximum Limited by memory. Only the Current value in this dialog appears to be changeable. But when I change it and try to save the settings, I get "Unable to save settings values".

In Pervasive SQL 2000i how do I change the maximum Cache Allocation Size? Is there also a Max Microkernel Memory Usage setting that I should change?
