Default msadomd 2.8 / 6.0 compatibility issue

Hi,

i am stuck with a compatibility problem concerning msadomd. We have a
series of Excel VBA applications, which make use of an ActiveX dll
that encapsulates msadomd functionality. Everything worked well under
Windows 2000 and XP, but when I try to run the VBA project under
Vista, I get a compile error ("error loading a dll") on a statement
that makes a call to the dll just mentioned. Calls from the immediate
window to other functions in that dll which do not call adomd
functions work properly, and the reference in the reference dialogue
box isn't broken.

On inspecting this dll in the object catalogue under vista, i found
that function definitions using adomd objects as input paramters or
return values appeared damaged, e.g.

This is how it looks in Win2000:

Function GetCatalog() as Catalog
Element of CubeLister.clsConnection

This is how it looks in vista:

Sub GetCatalog()
Element von CubeLister.clsConnection

I recompiled my dll under vista (with a reference to adomd 6.0) with
the effect that the Excel VBA apps now worked fine under Vista, but
produced the same error under Windows 2000 as under Vista before
("error loading a dll").

If anybody has experienced similar problems please let me know how you
handled it. I googled for this issue quite a lot but with no success.

Thanks,
Bernd
