Cannot issue oninit to IDS 11.5 on Windows Vista

Hi, can someone explain what's happening here and how I can get around
it.

I installed 11.5 from the IIUG site onto my Vista Business SP1 laptop.
I opted to run it under the informix account without role separation.
The installation created a new user called informix.

But if I login as informix and open up a console I can't start the
database. It's quite happy for me to shut it down using onmode -ky but
when I enter oninit is says
"Only members of IXDBSA group (Informix-Admin, by default) can start
IBM Informix Dynamic Server"

Can anyone tell me what's happeing here and what I need to do to be
able to control the instance from the command line?

I should say that the informix user is a member of group informix-
admin.

Use regedit to check if the group Informix-Admin is mentioned in

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Informix\OnLine\\Security\IXDBSA Group

and

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Informix\DBMS\11.50\Security\IXDBSA Group

There should be string values

domain =
name = Informix-Admin
