| Ingres OpenROAD "Wizards of Oz Tour 2008"! The tour will include whistle stops in Melbourne (December 3-5, 2008) and Sydney (December 10, 2008). Participating in this event from Ingres Corp. are: - Joseph Kronk, Director of Engineering - Durwin Wright, Senior Architect - Bodo Bergmann, Senior Engineer - David Tondreau, Architect Each stop will include an OpenROAD User Day event with a variety of presentations on OpenROAD by the development team. In addition, the Melbourne stop will begin with a two day "code sprint" similar to the event held at the UK Ingres User Association Spring '08 user event and the Ingres Open Engineering Summit '08. The code sprint is open to all customers and community members and givesyou the opportunity to "get your hands dirty," understand more about the code that makes up the OpenROAD product, and even contribute a bug fix or implement an enhancement. Read Kim Ginnerup's user page http://community.ingres.com/wiki/User:Kgi%40%2A%2A%2A on the Ingres Community wiki to find out how fun and educational this event can be. More information on the schedule of activities for the "OpenROAD Days" events will be published soon but seating at the events will be limited so be sure to make your reservation soon! Contact Contact Joe Kronk (joseph.kronk@ingres.com) for more information. In addition, we're looking for your input! Got an idea for a bug or enhancement you'd like to tackle at the code sprint? Or, perhaps you'd like to "sprint backwards" and have us help you integrate an new OpenROAD 2006 feature like portlets, mouse events, the eClient or mClient or HTTP access to the OpenROAD Server in /your/ application! If so, let us know! Contact Joe Kronk (joseph.kronk@ingres.com) with your suggestion or request. Notice: This transmission is not confidential at all. Feel free to broadcast copies of it at will.
