Decrypt user's encrypted mail - lotus-notes-admin
This is a discussion on Decrypt user's encrypted mail - lotus-notes-admin ; Is there a way as a sys admin I can open mail that user's have decrypted? This mail is sent within the company and we've become very suspicious. Can anyone here point me in the right direction for some instructions ...

You must have access to the user's ID file, since that is the only place the private key is stored. Tim, thanks for responding. I do, of course, have access to the user's id file, but have yet to find a way to use that file to decrypt the mail. In that case, there is a way to remove encryption. I wrote an agent once to do that. It simply loops through every document in the database, and removes the encryption. While the looping logic is pretty straight forward, there was a trick involved in removing the encryption. I can look that up if you are interested. Obviously you would need to work in a copy of the user's mail file because the documents will be altered.
