| I have a very unusual problem accessing NOTES data from Excel using MSQuery/SQL through the NOTESSQL 8.0 ODBC driver. This problem only appears to be happening when I access a specific NOTES DB. Symptoms: - I can create the intial query with no problems. - When I quit MSQuery then go back to EDIT QUERY, I sometimes see the following: 1) query results in the query editor are blank; 2) if I attempt to modify the query, I get a syntax error (explaining why the results are empty). This problem appears to be related to the length of the SQL string (> 256 characters sometimes seems to cause the problem) and / or use of criteria (e.g. Group = 'Portal'). Any ideas on what might be going wrong here? I've tried recreating the Data Source definition with no change in behavior or symptoms. Thanks |

On Fri, 10 Oct 2008 20:10:49 -0400, Bennie Gibson I found the problem - some of the columns in the Notes DB have names that are reserved words in SQL. Never did figure out the correct syntax for a workaround - was thinking I should be able to surround the column name with double quotes but no luck. Renaming the columns in the view. >Hi, > >I have a very unusual problem accessing NOTES data from Excel using >MSQuery/SQL through the NOTESSQL 8.0 ODBC driver.
