Smile How to create a cube with Standard database (e.g. MS Access DB )

Hello all,

I would like to create a local olap cube (.cub file) and
populate it with data from a MS Access database (I believe
the database could be anything, such as Oracle), but
without using Microsoft Analysis Services.

Any sample Code for the tasks will be a great help.
Thanks very much!

Thumbs up Re: How to create a cube with Standard database (e.g. MS Access DB )

Hi there,

The packages cubicweb and cubicweb-dev install a command line tool for CubicWeb called cubicweb-ctl. This tool provides a wide range of commands described in details in cubicweb-ctl tool. Once your CubicWeb development environment is set up, you can create a new cube: cubicweb-ctl newcube blog This will create in the cubes directory (/path/to/forest/cubes for Mercurial installation, /usr/share/cubicweb/cubes for debian packages installation) a directory named blog reflecting the structure described in The Core Concepts of CubicWeb.

You can create cube like this. For sample codes or for more info on data cube you can download an e book available at " THE MULTIDIMENSIONAL DATA MODELING TOOLKIT"
