Unhappy '32-bit Windows Error: 2: No such file or directory

Hi colleagues,

I'm trying to use a Oracle JDBC Driver version3.70.0 against an Oracle RDBMS version 9.2.0.3.0, but, I'm getting the following exception:

[Oracle JDBC Driver][Oracle]Connection refused, (DESCRIPTION=(TMP=)(VSNNUM=153092864)(ERR=12500)(E RROR_STACK=(ERROR=(CODE=12500)(EMFI=4))(ERROR=(COD E=12560)(EMFI=4))(ERROR=(CODE=530)(EMFI=4))(ERROR= (BUF='32-bit Windows Error: 2: No such file or directory'))))

What could be causing this? I can not sort this out...

Thanks for any hint.

Paulo.

This error may be related to the ERROR Code 12560..equivalent to an ORA-12560. So looks like a Protocol Adapter Error. Most times the protocol adapter error creeps in when the client doesnt know which database to connect to.

Check if ORACLE_SID is being passed in the right way either as an environment variable or as some programatic define.

Hmmm...
I think what you need to do is to install a "virtual machine" program in Windows XP. Virtual Machine software is a program that allows you to use 1 or more operating systems within another operating system. For example, you can boot and run Linux from within Windows.

In your case, you would install the VM software in Windows and then set it up to boot up and run Dr. DOS. Then you can run both operating systems at the same time and easily switch between the two.
