application framework in PDox 11? - Paradox Database
This is a discussion on application framework in PDox 11? - Paradox Database ; Greetings from the newest kid on the block. I tried searching for some info, but have failed so I hope I'm not being too much of a pest.... In PDox 8 there was (is) an "application framework" feature which permits ...

| In PDox 8 there was (is) an "application framework" feature which permits simple construction of basic (and perhaps complex?) applications which are then compilied (if that's the right word) into an executable file for standalone use by others. Even though I am wholly ignorant of deeper level programming, I was able to use this function to good advantage while still working under Win98. Once I migrated to XP, however, they no longer worked. I assumed that this was a compatibility problem and lived without it for a while. Now I have purchased a new license from Corel for their Suite X4 which includes PDox 11, again on the assumption that the newer Paradox release's Application Framework feature would work under XP and perhaps beyond. Just received the software package last night and it appears that instead of bringing the feature up to date, Corel has ELIMINATED IT!?! Do I have that right? Does it no longer exist? Was I possibly mistaken in my assumption about PDox 8 Appl Frmwrk in the first place? Is there something I can do to make those old apps work in XP? I guess I'll have to search out one or more of those old apps -- I think I may have trashed them some time ago, but could try to write a new one just to get a fix on exactly what the problem was -- it's been so long that I don't remember the specifics of the fault. Anyone? THANX!! Pablo |
