Unless you are talking about partial-birth abortions. Then it becomes very easy for me. Art |

Hi Art I am delighted to see a glimmer of discussion on the point. You will have no argument from me on late-term where the baby is healthy. However I am old enough to remember the dreadful problems in the '50s and '60s and obviously before when saintly doctors like Bertram Wainer finally stood up and did something about it despite enormous oposition from religious nutters and corrupt cops. I was particularly impressed that he insisted on birth control education and counselling as an even better way to approach the issue. Anyone who does not understand should be aware of the ignorance of the times, I went out with a young mother of two who did not know that her periods were associated with conception. Unfortunately this is the sort of ignorance that some major churches and associated politicians wish to keep in place. Not that it never happened (the back ally stuff), but calling it the number cause of death for women of child-bearing age?? Prove it. (It wasn't you that said this, Peter). > know that her periods were associated with conception. The issue, I believe, is teaching that sex is OK, just be smart about it, and have a good time. I think women *should* know what happens and why. And I think teaching that abstinence prevents a lot of problems is smart also. Art |
