I regret to have to say that John Timmons, a long-time member of the
original Pick group (though not at Pick & Associates), passed away of
a heart attack at his home in Washington State. He was 65, I think.

John was one of the first people I dealt with often when the Pick
(then-)OS was being actively developed. His many and insightful inputs
into the development effort helped shape the formative years of the
Pick system. I talked to him often and was always glad to adopt his
suggestions or criticisms.

In the years past lately, I have not personally kept in touch with
him, a matter of regret now.

To anyone who knew him or Wil lie, her address is 11[ xxx ]901 Vail Ro

ISTR he was at 17911 Sky Park Circle; if he wasn't a P&A
employee, then he must have been Microdata?

John was a class guy, and I learned a lot from him, not
just about programming.

According to Jim Stephens, there is a memorial planned for
Saturday, Nov 11 in Yelm, WA.

I don't *think* he was actually an employee of MD and definitely not
of P&A. He was sort of a honorary consultant who had ample access to
Pick software in those pre-litigious days.

He was not an employee of Pick (or Microdata as far as I know). He
consulted for them on many projects and as Chandru mentioned helped
shape the system in many ways. His company was Data-Cache and he
lived and worked mostly in San Diego with frequent trips to Orange
County to work at P&A/Pick Systems.

Same here, I had the opportunity to work closely with him and will
miss our talks on software and life in general.

Actually, that would be the 8th and I will be there.

Sorry to learn of this. Thanks for posting the news. John was one of
those very knowledgeable guys in San Diego/Orange County when I was a
very slim new boy, wet behind the ears, getting started on Microdata
Reality further back in time than I care to admit.
