Default SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition Data Mirroring

Dear All,

I am working on the SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition Data Mirroring. The
operation mode is High Protection(Synchronous Mode with out Witness Server).
Therefore I have one Principal Server and one Mirror Server.

I shuts down the Mirror Server and then I have added one new entry from my
frontend dot net application. I expect that I should not get the
acknowledgment message at my frontend dot net application, since in High
Protection(Synchronous Mode with out Witness Server), the Principal Server
will wait for the confirmation of the Mirror Server. Since the Mirror Server
is down, I should not get any acknowledgement message.

Please any one clarify my doubt.

Note:
I have referred to the following link for the Data Mirroring
