| application. To do so, I've created a single VM in Hyper-V intended to house both SBS primary server and SQL Server on a single machine. The SBS 2008 documentation says that it is possible, but I'm not so sure. After installing SBS 2008, I try to install SQL Server 2008 from DVD 5. The installer gives me the message "SQL Server 2008 setup requires Microsoft .NET Framework and an updated Windows Installer to be installed. To install these prerequisites and continue with Setup, click OK. To exit Setup, click Cancel." This is odd enough, because SBS 2008 should include these technologies already. But I click OK and the setup tries to complete, before informing me that the setup has failed. The log from the failed setup follows: [10/28/08,23:16:36] Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0SP1 (x64) (CBS): [2] Error: Installation failed for component Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0SP1 (x64) (CBS). It won't install because it says it is not supported in Vista. I've also download dnf 3.5SP1 and when installing it manually, it fails the exact same say as when the SQL 2008 installer launches it. I can't find any relevant entries in the Event Log. Any ideas? -- Jon Robertson Borland Certified Advanced Delphi 7 Developer MedEvolve, Inc http://www.medevolve.com |

I managed to resolve this same issue by using the .net 3.5 installation on the server (note, not 3.5 SP1) and choosing repair. After doing this I had the 3.5 SP! install go without problem. |
