Cannot access cube from excel

Hi

I am using SSAS 2008 EP and Excel 2007 on my development env.
I developed cubes and deployed them to the production env which has same SQL Server package installed. I have managed to deploy my cube and can browse it in the prod env.

Now, I tried to browse my cube through pivot in excel but for some reason when:
i) I use the windows admin credentials I can see the cube folder but no actual cubes inside
ii) I use another windows user credentials I I cannot event pass the dialogue box. It gives an error saying that "there was an error in the transport layer".

None of the environments are in the same domain and I cannot change that and have to find an alternative. I cannot even use any other product like sharepoint or SSRS but solely Excel 2007.
I have googled for half a day now but in vain.
