> Can we run SQL server on Windows 2008? SQL server 2000 is not supported on Windows 2008. See http://www.microsoft.com/sql/howtobuy/sqlonvista.mspx. Also, mainstream support for SQL Server 2000 has ended. See http://support.microsoft.com/gp/lifeselectserv. Note that this does not mean that it won't work. For example, I run SQL 2000 Developer Edition under Windows Visa but I use only a subset of the features and not for production purposes. I do this at my own risk. -- Hope this helps. To get MS SQL 2000 successfully installed, you need to keep default settings for Windows 2008 installation. Especially, do not change Country and Language settings. Otherwise, the collation sequence of MS SQL 2000 which is expecting SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS will fail. Tradewinds Plantation Berhad IT Department |
