Hi Guys,

I am new to HP Unix. on one of the unix server i dropped user and group by useing userdel and groupdel. Now when i create new user or group i get following error:

# useradd abc
rm: /etc/group.tmp24293 not removed. Permission denied
#

# groupadd oinstall
rm: /etc/group.tmp24465 not removed. Permission denied

user and group gets created successfully but user home folder is not created.

I would look in /home. I don't know how it goes in HP-UX, but in Solaris if you do not identify a specific location for the user's home directory, it defaults to /home. HTH.
