Hi David,

Depends on which release you are on. If its 2.6 and prior you cannot remove
a location from a database and so you cannot remove it altogether.
R3/2006 have the 'unextenddb' utility which then allows you to use the -drop
option in the 'exetenddb' command to remove the location.

What you can to prior to R3 is change the work location to an Auxillary Work
location so it won't actually get used.
In accessdb go into locations and edit the location so all its 'Used for'
entries are set to 'No'. Then go into the database list in accessdb and for
each database that uses the location select 'extend', highlight the location
and select 'Alter' This will toggle the location Usage to 'Auxillary Work'
so it will no longer be used by default.
You can still use this location if desired by setting everything back to how
it was or by using the 'SET WORK LOCATIONS' statement in individual
sessions.

Hi
We changed the work lkocation of a database by adding the new location
in Accessdb. The old location is no longer needed but when we try to
delete the old one we get the message that we can't delete it because it
is still in use by a database. The only problem is that we aren't
allowed to delete and disconnect it from the database in the 'database'
screen of Accessdb.
Any suggestions how to disconnect the old location from the database and
delete it from the location list in Accessdb ?
