"The URL cannot be found" on adding a merge replication subscription

  1. "The URL cannot be found" on adding a merge replication subscription

    Hi,

I'm just trying to set up my first SQL 2005 Mobile database which will
syncronise with SQL on my server. I have followed the MS tutorial but
have got stuck when it comes to adding the subscription to the mobile
    database.

I keep getting error 82016 "The URL cannot be found" despite the fact
that I can navigate to the URL without a problem from the browser.

    In
    http://www.developersdex.com/sql/mes...Monster.com%3E
it is saying that it could be because my DLL is not registered (and,
although it is a different version, this is further supported by the
fact that I don't get any text in the browser when I browse to the DLL
    as it says in
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...nfguration.asp)

Has anyone got any ideas? I've simply followed all of the instructions
and everything else has gone fine but I can't get any further.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Sam

Where have you tried the URL, on the desktop browser, or in the PDA browser?
If you haven't tried it on the PDA and you are using ActiveSync, check the
    work/internet settings on ActiveSync
